Tournament of Roses News!
David, Dad, and Grandma at the Post Parade Event.
I just received notification that my next committee will be the Formation Committee. Every two years, all of the White Suiters rotate the committee they are on for a new one. This will be my third year in the Tournament of Roses and my second committee assignment.
Dad has 2009 TofR Post Parade pins with small information cards for family and friends. It is a pin I designed for my committee that looks like our iconic white hats (see the picture above). Xavier's antics kept me at home for the last parade, but I am looking forward to sharing with him the best New Year's celebration in the world in 2010!

2009 City of Hope Eagle Tribute Day
Welcome, fractured feathers!
City of Hope's iconic fountain.
Some of the top Eagles in the nest.
My cousin Michele next to a portrait of her favorite doctor, Dr. Morgan.
Donna and I - excited to tour the new Donor Center!
Although I am not technically affiliated with the FOE, Donna has snagged me to tag along these last few years when they're down at City of Hope. They usually give a tour or provide a semi-technical lecture that details research being done. Michele always likes to go and it is a really nice way to spend the morning.
Having missed the Southern California Chapter of the Health Physics Society meeting at City of Hope just recently (being on Xavier duty still), Alfonso stayed with X while I attended. I was glad I got to go! Neil and I usually donate platelets together when we qualify; that is, when we haven't had a major illness/surgery/birth or when it has been enough time since we've last traveled internationally. He is always prized - being a triple donor that he is!
City of Hope gave us a sneak peek at the new multi-million dollar donor Building that is a huge step up from the small trailer they were formerly operating out of.

Out and About
X Snoozing at Starbucks.
We've been getting out to Oinkster and Starbucks, as well as off to visiting relatives. Xavier is a great baby to travel with, so long as a diaper bag isn't too far out of reach!
